PAJARITO: Hand EmBROIDERY & Stitching
Societas Dulcis (Dulce Compania)
A series of textile pieces. Based on fabrics and scraps, seven beings emerge with seven different purposes. Inspired by different archetypes, visions, and profiles, the members of Societas Dulcis are special pieces born in this workshop and are as much animal as human and stars.
Each flag (textile) encompasses a being full of meaning and on the back, their mechanism of life (thread of the heart, thread of breathing, and ember).
The “Velum” Series
A veil interposes itself between the depths of the soul and the external world. Loaded with symbolism and narrative, this work embodies the idea of protection through feminine strength, though not necessarily maternal. It plays a dual role: the one we exercise towards others or towards ourselves, preserving us, but sometimes also causing us harm in the attempt. Likewise, this work plays with the idea of an apparent simplicity that hides complexity behind the layers of the veil: the beauty of the hidden. Ultimately, it reveals the thread that weaves the heritage that defines us and the one we will leave behind, both as protected and as protectors.
PAJARITO: ARTIST BIO
Alejandra Jaramillo (PAJARITO) born in Bogotá and currently residing in Cali, Colombia, has woven her life around art with a subtlety and depth that transcends the conventional. Born in 1982, Alejandra has become a visual storyteller whose illustrations provoke intense and emotional dialogues with the observer. Her art reflects an intimate and constant connection with the meaningful, the symbolic, and the aesthetic.
Every stroke and word by Alejandra reveals a deep understanding of human emotions, delicately exploring the "small giant pains" that often go unnoticed. Her ability to transfer these experiences to various media, from paper to textiles, speaks of an artist who not only creates but lives and experiences her art.
Alejandra views art not just as a form of expression, but as an innate right, a spark that burns within every human being. In her world, art is a constant companion, a silent therapist, and a confidant that listens without judgment. This vision is reflected in her works, imbued with purpose, mysticism, and clear intention, inviting the viewer to look beyond the obvious, to discover hidden layers of meaning and beauty.
In Alejandrás work, we find a unique territory where originality and authenticity intertwine to create an artistic language that not only captures the eye but also captivates the soul.
